Ranbaxy Malaysia Sdn Bhd (RMSB) is a joint venture company of Ranbaxy Laboratories Limited, India. Started in 1984, RMSB operated as a trading company importing pharmaceuticals and chemicals.

In 1987, a dedicated manufacturing unit was set up in Sungai Petani, Kedah to cater for the country’s need. Today, the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) compliant manufacturing plant is an international hub and supplies countries in ASEAN as well as Middle East region.

Over the last 2 decades, RMSB has placed itself as a leading pharmaceutical provider in the country. Backed by its strong R&D capability, RMSB has over the years launched and marketed many molecules for chronic and acute diseases.

Among the key brands in the industry marketed by RMSB are Storvas (Atorvastatin), Histac (Ranitidine), Simvor (Simvastatin), Romesec (Omeprazole), Lestric (Lovastatin).

A hybrid alliance between Ranbaxy Laboratories Limited and Japanese Innovator powerhouse Daiichi-Sankyo Co., Limited in 2008 gave RMSB the opportunity to market the latter’s innovator products in Singapore and Malaysia.

Today, RMSB remains a key player in the local pharmaceutical market and aspires to become a USD100 million company.
